Question

Pourqui avoir supprimé ma page ?????? Djchristof 09:33, 7 January 2011

See your talk page. Wutsje 09:37, 7 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hi Wutse. I've deleted the Châteaurenard page, because this event has nothing to do with Wikipedia 10. Cheers. notafish 09:38, 7 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Indeed it doesn't appear to - but I'm in a mild mood. :-) Wutsje 09:39, 7 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Athens

Thank you. We are already organising a series of events in Greece. The first will be a meetup in Athens on Sunday 16 January 2011.--MARKELLOS 12:15, 8 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nice. I wish I'd be able to attend, but it's just a bit too far away for me. :-)   Wutsje 12:18, 8 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Jimbo

Jimbo declares himself the sole founder of Wikipedia, and for all intents and purposes, that's what he is named as. Should I provide diffs? Dusti*poke* 07:12, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

"Larry Sanger and Jimmy Wales founded Wikipedia." See en:Wikipedia. Wutsje 07:13, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Wales has asserted that he is the sole founder of Wikipedia,[7] and has publicly disputed Sanger's designation as a co-founder. Dusti*poke* 07:15, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Welcome! I am Jimmy Wales, and I was born in the wonderful city of Huntsville, Alabama, United States. I founded Wikipedia in 2001. Dusti*poke* 07:16, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that's what he says. I know it's a controversial discussion - although it reminds me of a school playground. Anyway, I don't really care, so do what you think you must do. Wutsje 07:26, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
per this, I am reverting the change. Dusti*poke* 07:41, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Like I said, I don't really care. Wutsje 07:45, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
There is no need to be rude or disrespectful. I took the appropriate course of action and I'm letting you know the outcome, a polite action unlike what so many others wouldn't do. Maybe I don't want to be an en.wiki sysop after all.... Dusti*poke* 07:49, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
I did not mean to be rude and if I gave that impression, I'm sorry. I just meant what I wrote: I don't really care. The permanent debate about who founded Wikipedia is stupid and silly. (Although I would myself never cite one of the subjects of that discussion as a reliable source for its outcome. What would you have done if Mr. Sanger had declared he is the sole founder?). Wutsje 08:00, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
In that sense, that depends on two variables: One, is Mr. Sanger declaring this on wiki or is he soap boxing elsewhere? If he were on wiki, I would take this to Requests for Comments. If he wasn't on wiki, I'd probably still take it to RFC and request a greater input of the community and remove the entire section and protect the page pending that outcome. However, since Mr. Sanger isn't debating this further, as I can see... all we have to go on is Mr. Wales declaration and let it rest. Dusti*poke* 08:10, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
